Most tanks radiate from the floor and fade with depth. A rod radiates from its entire cylindrical surface, along its whole immersed length — an even, omnidirectional field top to bottom.
A solid titanium-alloy or stainless waveguide, driven from one end by a transducer stack that sits outside the liquid. The rod itself resonates along its length and radiates from its whole surface.
The stack sits outside the tank. The only wetted component is solid metal — nothing bonded, nothing sealed, nothing that fails because a seal did.
Heavy soil loads, aggressive chemistry, thermal cycling and rough handling. When something does eventually give, it is a service item rather than a scrapped tank.
The engineering honesty: rod resonators are single-frequency devices — 20, 30 or 40 kHz — and their strength is robust, even, deep-field cleaning rather than fine high-frequency finesse. Precision multi-frequency work stays with bonded and immersible platforms. The rod owns depth, durability and retrofit.
