Why this machine

The all-round bench

The all-rounder of the family: a 250 × 200 mm basket that takes a full instrument cassette, a tray of clinic kit, a board-and-connector batch — or the home mechanic's carburettor and injector set on a Sunday. 400 watts of swept 40 kHz, set-and-walk-away controls. If you buy one machine to find out what ultrasonics does, buy this one.

Applications

The difference you cannot see

Industrial BLT transducers — not hobby discs

Every PowerSonic is driven by bolt-clamped Langevin transducers — the same construction as our industrial machines — delivering more real power into the bath and lasting years past the glued disc elements in lookalike tanks. Add swept frequency, a true degas mode and three power levels, and this is a small machine with industrial manners. It is why a PowerSonic outcleans cheaper tanks on day one, and why it is still doing it on day one thousand.

At the controls

Set it, lid on, walk away

Timer — to 99 minutes

Five-minute instrument cycles to long soak jobs, unattended.

Heat — to 80 °C, separate control

Thermostat-protected; heat the bath without running sonics, ready for the first basket.

Power — Low / Med / High

Delicate stones on Low, workshop steel on High. Intensity matched to the part, not averaged.

Sweep

Continuously varies the frequency — even cleaning across the basket, no hot spots, kinder to the tank.

Degas

Pulses the drive to purge dissolved air after a fresh fill — full cleaning power from the first cycle.

Drain valve + hose

Bath changes without lifting and tipping — the detail you appreciate weekly.

Accessories

Build it out for the application

PS 610 stainless perforated basket
Stainless perforated basket — included

250 × 200 × 100 mm, in the box. Parts always go in the basket, never on the tank floor.

Jewellery / parts rack

Suspends rings, chains and small parts individually in the field — no tangling, no shadowing.

Small parts basket

Fine-mesh insert for screws, findings, burs and components that fall through the standard basket.

Mesh clasp basket

Closable mesh cage for tiny high-value items — nothing escapes into the tank.

Chemistry

Approved chemistry — and a hard rule

No caustics. No acids. Ever. PowerSonic tanks are precision benchtop machines — aggressive strip chemistry belongs in the industrial range, not here. The mild aqueous products below cover every approved application.

Questions

Before you buy

What cleaning solution should I use?
Two rules. First: never plain water alone — it cavitates poorly and cleans worse. Second: never caustics or acids in a PowerSonic — these are precision benchtop tanks, and the approved chemistry list is deliberately mild: FX Degreaser for general degreasing, Brulin 815 GD or Sonidet for medical and veterinary instrument work, Electro for electronics and for jewellery and watch parts. All dose from the bottle at label rates.
Can parts sit on the tank floor?
No — always in the basket. Parts on the floor damp the transducers, wear the tank and clean poorly. The basket suspends the load in the strongest part of the field; it ships in the box.
How long does a cycle take?
Most loads run 5–15 minutes. Heavily fouled parts may take a second cycle or a warmer bath rather than a longer one — temperature does more than time once chemistry is right. The timer runs to 99 minutes for soak-style jobs.
Does it sterilise instruments?
No — and nothing ultrasonic does. It cleans to pre-sterilisation standard: cavitation removes the soil load that would otherwise shield organisms in the autoclave. Clean ultrasonically, then sterilise; that is the compliant sequence.
Will it damage delicate items?
Run delicate work on Low power and correct chemistry. Solid jewellery, most stones, steel and glass are routine. Avoid: soft porous gems (pearls, opals, emeralds with fillers), loose plating and lacquered finishes — ask us if unsure, it is a two-minute phone call.
What are sweep and degas for?
Sweep continuously varies the frequency so cleaning power distributes evenly — no hot and dead spots, kinder to the tank. Degas pulses the ultrasonics to drive dissolved air out of a fresh fill; run it for a few minutes after every water change and the bath cleans at full strength.
Why BLT transducers?
The industrial bolt-clamped Langevin transducers in every PowerSonic deliver more power into the bath and last far longer than the glued disc elements in hobby-grade machines. It is the main reason a PowerSonic outcleans lookalike tanks at half the price — and outlives them.
What's in the box?
Tank lid, stainless perforated basket, 1 m drainage hose, 3 m power lead with standard plug, and the manual. Fill, dose, clean — nothing else to buy on day one.
What about delivery and warranty?
Shipped Australia-wide, AS3100 electrically certified, backed by a 12-month warranty and local support with spare parts held here. Freight quoted at checkout.
