Break the oil's grip before you do anything else
Heavy oil fouling defeats good chemistry by armouring the surface: descalers cannot reach scale under an oil blanket, inspection cannot see cracks under sludge. SolvoKleen is the breaker — formulated to penetrate, break down and release heavy oil accumulations from coolers, housings and oil-side hardware.
Run it as the opening move on oil-heavy work. Once the oil is off, every subsequent stage — descale, inspect, test — works on metal instead of on grease, and works the way the data sheet promised.
On a Misonics tank the weir does the second half of the job, skimming the released oil off the surface continuously so the bath keeps working instead of re-coating every basket.
Where it earns its keep
Oil cooler and exchanger de-oiling before descale or inspection.
Dose: Per TDS. The trial sets your exact process values; the TDS governs.
The working process
A freshly cleaned ferrous part is chemically active — protective films gone, surface warm and wet, rinse ions acting as electrolyte. Rust bloom can start within the hour. DI water rinsing slows it; protection stops it.
Inhibitor in the final rinse before hot-air drying, an Anti-Rust dip between processes, or a water-displacing film for storage — matched to the next process. Tell us what happens next and the protection specifies itself.
