500 to 1500 W at 20, 35 or 36 kHz — welding, spot welding, riveting and staking anywhere you can reach the joint.
A press needs the part to fit under a horn on a fixed table. A great many parts do not — a bumper fascia, a door card, a large tank, an assembly already on the line. A hand welder puts the same weld anywhere you can reach.

Highest amplitude, carries furthest through a part. Use for thick sections, semi-crystalline resins (PP, PE, nylon) and larger spot welds. Louder, and more aggressive on delicate parts.
Lower amplitude, smaller horns, quieter. Use on thin walls, small parts, and assemblies with electronics or other components that would be shaken by 20 kHz.
Bigger and softer → lower frequency. Smaller and more delicate → higher frequency. If a part is being damaged at 20 kHz, moving up is usually the fix.
